Anti-Inflammatory, Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce
IDK about you, but November and Thanksgiving screams applesauce to me. As you all know, I HATE recipes that involved 287423923897342 ingredients. So if you want something quick to bring to Thanksgiving OR a sweet addition for dessert with a little vanilla ice cream, check this out….
ingredients:
6 ripe golden delicious apples
1 tsp salt
Cinnamon to taste
1/2 cup coconut oil
Instructions:
Wash and chunk 6 apples, don’t peel. Keep the fiber. In a medium sauce pan, place 1/4 cup of coconut oil in and a dash of cinnamon. Let that heat through. Then add in 3 diced apples. Let simmer. Start chunking the other 3 apples. Add into sauce pan and place 1/4 cup of coconut oil in and the rest of the cinnamon to taste. Cover and let cook for 5 minutes on high. Mix. Uncover and stir/mash. Continue with this process until desired texture is reached. Picture below was taken in the middle of cooking the applesauce, I kept cooking until almost totally smooth! Delicious hot or cold.
Fun Fact: Cinnamon = anti-inflammatory :)
